Amanda Jay is the Director and Visionary of Via Nova Training and the creator of Priority to Positive®. She is on a mission to transform the traditional sport horse world by offering a new set of practical tools based on behavioral science that help trainers, riders, and horses perform at their best.
Over a lifetime of learning as an amateur equestrian, Amanda began to look for what makes traditional methods of training work. As she uncovered how animals (including humans) learn, it took her squarely into the world of behavioral science and she has never looked back.
During this quest for knowledge, Amanda has trained with some well-known behaviorists inside and outside the horse world, all the while creating a way to translate these ideas into Priority to Positive®, a methodology that will work for the competitive and practical equestrian. As for her own horse, her newfound success using Positive Reinforcement methods became a catalyst for sharing this knowledge with others.
